Finding home videos

Situation: playing home videos from a camera from the 90s. (2 decades ago) why do we expect this to happen. After trying several placements of the cords, I was twisting on a cable cord back into, it was either lefty or righty direction. No clue, "no grip", from switching side to side knowing it'll either work one way or another. But I don't find out until I go all the way. The right way? And the wrong way. I have and are and will travel by both. I look up and the cable had been working. My question: how long has this been On? "The whole time", ma.
